I have been a mental and physical performance coach for elite athletes for over 30 years. The last 18 years, I have exclusively trained professional, amateur, college, and elite junior golfers. The secret to my clients' success is that they have followed my "PROCESS TO BE SUCCESSFUL." This is a process that teaches my clients to not focus on winning and losing but instead to focus on consistency in preparation and training with a purpose. When they train mentally and physically, practice with a purpose, and follow my process, the end result will be successful.

I have developed "THE PROCESS TO BE SUCCESSFUL" over a number of years, starting back in college. I was fortunate to have played football at the University of Alabama under the legendary coach, Paul "Bear "Bryant. Coach Bryant won many National Championships because he developed, implemented and taught a winning process. I received my Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Alabama and a Master's Degree in Sport Psychology from San Diego University. I have extensively researched Golf Hall of Fame players: Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Greg Norman, and Tiger Woods. All the men listed above had one common denominator; they followed a process, a process that led them to become very successful and the Golf Hall of Fame. My definition of success is not defined by results. It is defined by the effort put forth in the preparation on the road to be successful.

A well-developed process will produce successful result. Conversely, if the process that is followed is poorly developed, a positive result will not be the outcome. The more a player emphasizes winning, the less he or she is able to practice the elements that result in success. The process to focus mentally and physically on what it takes to be successful is actually quite difficult to maintain.

The pressure by agents, coaches, parents, and fans can be so overwhelming at times, that it nearly impossible to remain disciplined toward the process. To combat and eliminate these non essential outside disturbances, I have all my players write down their short, intermediate, and long term goals. I want them visible in a place where they can read them daily. By doing that very simple task, they are more likely to follow the process. All my clients are instructed to have a written daily training and practice plan that they willing commit to follow. They work on their weaknesses so they become strengths but also work on their strengths so that they become even stronger.

Success is determined by whether or not you have embraced and followed your process.
